Forest Grove Swim Club (FGSC) is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization hosting its very first USAT Aquathlon called Forest Grove Splash
& Dash. A Splash & Dash is a fun and fast-growing sport that combines
running and swimming for youth ages 7-15.
With our focus on fun and participation over competition - we want to
introduce youth to how great the multisport life is! Join us on
Saturday, July 29 – an exclusive pre-registration event for up to 200 participants. Families and friends are encouraged and welcome to attend. After the event, stop by local vendors/booths and partake in delicious foods, sweets, and cool off with shave ice.
About the Race & Race Routes
Participants will start the event with swimming, move to the transition area to prepare, and then complete the running portion.
*Ages 13-15: 200-yard swim and 2K run
*Ages 11-12: 200-yard swim and 2K run

Pre-Packet and Event Day Packet Pickup
1. Confirmation Email with QR code – Please have your QR code ready,
either print or screenshot before you arrive to Pre-Packet Pickup or event day.
Do this before you arrive as we cannot guarantee a strong connectivity with so
many people onsite at the same time. This will allow you to pick up your packet
with faster & easier wait times & help you move on to the fun.
2. Proof of 1-day USAT Insurance – Print or have screenshot via phone. Again, please remember to do this before you arrive as we cannot guarantee strong connectivity. IMPORTANT, it is required to purchase & show proof of insurance for each participant. Failure to provide proof will disqualify a participant in participating – no exceptions.
3. Race Packets
will be available at Forest Grove Splash & Dash check-in booth. To account
for long wait times, we’re providing an opportunity for a pre-packet pickup
option the day before the event. If you’re unable to attend the pre-packet
pickup, your more than welcome to check-in on race day during your participants
wave time. Adults are required to show their state/federal issued ID for
pickup.

4. Check-In Booth – IMPORTANT: All participants are required to
stop at the check-in booth on race day during check-in wave timeframe
regardless of pre-packet pickup or day of pickup. Volunteers will need to
notate vital race day information on each participant’s arm [participant #, wave, and
assigned transition area]. Information will be needed throughout event day.
Transition Area
After check-in, participants will be moved to the transition area. The
information on participant’s arm will help volunteers guide your participant to
their assigned transition area. Participants will drop off their personal
belongings needed for each leg of the race [swim + run]. Volunteers will help
participants to and from transition areas.
Spectator Areas
All spectator areas
will be assigned for both Forest Grove Aquatic Center & Pacific University
track. Areas will be clearly marked. For the safety of all participants,
spectators are not permitted in transition areas. Families and friends are
encouraged and welcome to attend. If for any reason the participant needs help
or be contacted, seek a volunteer for assistance.
Spectators will also be required to move between locations. All spectators will
start at Forest Grove Aquatic Center and walk over to Pacific University track
field. The entire walking path will be divided in two paths [participant &
spectators]. Once the run portion concludes, your participant is welcome to
depart with you on the spectator side as they exit.
Parking: Parking will be very LIMITED. To ensure participant
& spectator safety throughout the event and a secured area for
vendor/booths/emergency services, Forest Grove Aquatic Center parking lot will
be dedicated space. Therefore, please use Pacific University campus parking
including surrounding street parking.
Weather: Forest Grove Splash & Dash is a rain or shine event.
If needed, a slight modification to the running portion may be permitted to
accommodate.
Post-Race
Information
After the run
portion is concluded, each participant will be awarded a medal at the finish
line. We will have a photobooth/backdrop available for pictures. Feel free to
take pictures throughout the event and for those who enjoy posting on social
media, please use #ForestGroveSplashAndDash or #FGSplashAndDash
Vendors & Booths - Fundraising
Take a moment and join in on the festivities! We’ve invited several local food
vendors to help celebrate our first Splash & Dash event. Vendors &
booths will be open throughout the entire day [all waves]. A portion of all
sales will be donated to Forest Grove Swim Club as fundraising efforts. We
appreciate you and your support in advance.

Why is the event in wave times per age ranges?
For the safety of all participants, each wave is designed for alike age
brackets, potential skill sets, speed, and ultimately support the volume of
swimmers and runners at a given time.

Can my participate bring a floating device to use in the swimming
portion?
Yes, for the safety of all swimmers, approved floatation devices are either a
Coast Guard approved life jacket or a kickboard. Forest Grove Aquatic
center does have a very limited supply. No other types of floatation
devices will be permitted.
What is the event lengths per age & route?
Participants start the with swimming, move to a transition area to prep, and
conclude with running
Ages 13-15: 200-yard swim and 2K run

Does my child have to be a competitive swimmer?
Great question! Participants should know the basic rules of being in a pool, be
able to float and swim independently short distances. In the event your
participant is in need a floatation device, feel free to bring a Coast Guard
approved lifejacket or a kickboard. Participants swim path will be along
the perimeter of the pool. Participants do have an opportunity to
quickly rest throughout the duration of their event.
Is there an option for pre-packet pickup?
Absolutely! Pre-packet pickup is scheduled on Friday, July 28, 2023 between
4PM-7PM.

If I’m unable to make pre-packet pickup, can I pick up my packet on
the day of the event?
Indeed! You’re more than welcome to pick up on race day. We offer a pre-packet
pickup to help with lines wait time.
If I arrive after the check-in time, will my participant be able to
participate?
Check-in times are provided to allow participants to check in during their
specific window timeframe. For the safety of all participants, those who arrive
late will NOT be able to participate as each timeframe is defined in age waves
including required safety talk following shortly after check-in and before
entering the water.

Please note this is NOT a drop-off event and requires an adult/parent/guardian
present throughout the time your participant is onsite.

Is there a possibility for a refund as I no longer can make the event?
Sorry to hear that you are no longer able to make the event. Unfortunately,
there is no option for refund as we have allocated only 200 pre-registered
participants.
If I’m no longer able to make the event, can I provide the ticket to
someone else?
As much as we would enjoy having another participant fulfill your ticket
purchase, we’re unable to change any pre-registration information of a
participant, parent, and/or legal guardian.
